My Iowa born mother taught me the phrase "In like a lion out like a lamb" to describe March weather in Michigan, where I grew up. Well it certainly didn't describe Nebraska weather this month. Today was quite cold with a strong wind. But there are signs of Spring everywhere. Trees are beginning to bud. Snow drops and squill are blooming and tulips and daffodils are coming out of the ground.
A sure sign that Spring is upon us in the Dean's Office comes from a look at our calendars. The next few weeks are full with Strategic Planning meetings with Chairs and Directors. I very much enjoy these meetings because we get to discuss where the college and the departments and programs are headed and how we can get there more quickly. So it is very appropriate these meetings take place each Spring as both are about optimism and hope for the future. Now if the weather would only just get a little warmer ....

Dean Manderscheid, thanks for yet another great "Dean's Lunch" today! The Student Advisory Board always looks forward to the event and we enjoy getting to know you a little better each time.
Stay warm!
