Politics
Our newest academic star is John Hibbing, a professor of political science. John has studied extensively the factors that influence voters' decision making, a timely topic these days. John and his colleagues recently published a study in the journal Science, which showed that an individual's physiological reaction to sudden noises and threatening visual images can predict variations in political beliefs. This work has received, to put it mildly, a lot of attention - from blogs to Time magazine and the Washington Post. He was even interviewed for the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. John is an example of the great faculty we have in Arts and Sciences.
